Wow, I am just so glad that you are here.
My name is Ashley, and if you’ve been with me this long, you know that I am crazy about Jesus, that I love writing, and I love people and seeing them flourish. I am so grateful you hopped on this journey with me.
I assume that you are here because you are interested in reading about what this “Healing Happens” series is all about, so let me go ahead and tell you.
This series is dear to my heart because it is an answered prayer. You know love, many times during college, I cried out to God in my anxiety, insecurities, and times of other mental health struggles praying “Lord, can you take this away?” But I remember the hope and strength that I received when I was reminded that God can use all of it for good. So that became my prayer instead, that God would use my struggle for good.
I believe that this series is just one of the ways that that last prayer will be answered. “Healing Happens” is for the one who needs some real encouragement and practical help during such a challenging time. I have found over this pandemic that what I have learned in those difficult times has helped me to survive the challenging times taking place right now. In this series, you’ll find just a few things that I have learned throughout college and my own time in counseling about enduring through and making it through difficult seasons. You’ll hear about my personal journey learning that enduring through difficult seasons in a way that leads to flourishing takes faith, intentionality, prayer, community, reflection, rest, etc.
As an important note, I am not perfect and there is so much work God has left to do in me. I am also not a professional counselor or psychologist, so if you need a professional to consult, please seek one. Despite not having those credentials, I have definitely learned some things that have benefitted me when I put them into practice and that I think could benefit you and myself later in the future. 😉
So love, thank you for joining me. I’m really glad that you have decided to embark on this journey with me.
Take heart mi amor, this too shall pass. Good will come out of this for you.
This is where we’ll get started:
“As He (Jesus) got into the boat, His disciples followed Him. Suddenly, a violent storm arose on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves. But He was sleeping. So the disciples came and woke Him up, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to die! But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, you of little faith? ” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea. And there was a great calm. The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? — even the winds and the sea obey Him! ” Matthew 8: 23- 27
See you soon love!
