Hola mis amores!
I hope you’re doing well and enjoying your day wherever you are!
On YouTube, I recently uploaded a youtube video on my top 4 tips for surviving college that have really helped me out this semester! This is not to say that I am perfect, nor that I do these things all of the time, but these four tips have helped me SO much or would have helped me so much if I had known of them in my previous years.
1. Prioritize and know your commitments
I have next to my bed a list of commitments that include my academics, my job in Residence Life, my family, SHEISALLIN, and my personal goals (like learning more how to speak Spanish)! Reading them over and sitting with them really helps me to get centered and remember what really matters!
2. Keeping my room clean
Period. Keeping my room clean helps keep my mind clean, and allows me to have a nice space to come back to after work.
3. Remembering my “why”
I remember one particular season of my time in school where I felt like being in school had no purpose for me. It was early on, when I didn’t really know what I wanted to do after college. Heck, I’m still figuring it out, but it especially took a toll on me when I was in the middle of a bunch of work and felt there was no purpose to it. What I didn’t appreciate was how much I was growing, and how much this opportunity would lead me to eventually discover what my heart beats for.
4. Making time for the things that I love
There are many things we have to do to survive and to invest in for the future. But I have to always remember to look up from my computer and see what God is doing in my life right now.
SO mis amores, I pray that you are doing the things you need to do for both your future and your present. God is doing a work right now that He doesn’t want you to miss out on.
I hope that you enjoyed these four tips!
Looking forward to next week!
